I prefer the John Cage literal version.

I have to agree. It could be because I was expecting another one of these and my expectations were low, but the arrangement and performance of that Disturbed track was amazing. .

I heard this song the other day and enjoyed it. Their cover of Land of Confusion was great as well.

As a big Paul Simon/S&G fan, I enjoyed that. The video didn’t add a whole lot for me, though. I think it shows that a great song can transcend its original medium, though there really isn’t a whole lot different between the two. That would be the first song I’ve heard from Disturbed. That guy’s got a great voice.

When I was an undergraduate getting a music degree, I was in a music history class that had a few grad students in it. The grad students had to do an extra project and present it to the class, and one of the vocal majors was assigned a report on aleatoric music. When she got up to present it to the class, she started out by talking about John Cage, and his famous piece “Four Feet Thirty-three Inches.”
